About the position

The position involves responsibilities such as installing equipment, repairing and replacing units, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining equipment, electronics, and electrical systems. The role includes participating in root cause analysis of system breakdowns and implementing corrective actions for long-term prevention. The technician will respond to production requests for action and resolution of issues, maintain documentation records, and create requisitions for supplies to ensure proper inventory for equipment maintenance. The technician will routinely identify equipment, component, and safety concerns and recommend to leadership how to safeguard against machine/equipment breakdowns and safety hazards. Additionally, the technician will assist the Maintenance Manager/Maintenance Lead in training and providing guidance to apprentices and maintenance technicians. The role requires performing skilled journey-level work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment used at manufacturing plants.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul electro-mechanical and solid state electrical equipment using various electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools.
  • Install new electrical and electronic equipment and wiring according to the National Electrical Code and company standards, with experience in AC control wiring.
  • Maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for project facilities and equipment.
  • Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.
  • Work safely and cooperatively with co-workers and the public.
  • Lead a work party in performing maintenance or repair work.
  • Comply with and practice proper equipment clearance procedures.
  • Perform all work in compliance with NEC, ANSI, and OSHA applicable codes, standards, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy.
  • Determine materials needs and order materials for new equipment or equipment relocation installation.
  • Participate in Kaizen, Reliability Program, and PM activities.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Electronic or Electrical related field of study.
  • 2 years of experience within a manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Quality experience demonstrating mechanical/electrical technical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Must comprehend and ensure compliance with NEC code, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Proficient capability to utilize commonly required maintenance tools and equipment including hand tools.
  • Ability and willingness to take action based on standard practices and learn new technologies.
