About the position

BGIS is seeking a Facility Program Manager to join our team in a remote capacity, focusing on mission-critical center equipment systems. This role involves supporting systems such as power generation and distribution, uninterruptible power supplies, static transfer switches, power distribution units (PDUs), building automation systems (BAS), building management systems (BMS), and HVAC equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, or have equivalent industry experience, complemented by proven customer service skills. Experience with industrial-level generators, uninterruptible power supplies, HVAC, and power conditioning equipment is highly beneficial. The candidate should be technically proficient with test equipment including AC/DC amp probes, digital voltmeters, phase rotation meters, battery conductance testers, battery load testers, and micro-ohm meters. This position is primarily remote but requires significant travel, up to 75%, for client engagements, training, meetings, and other in-person events. The Facility Program Manager will be responsible for managing and completing projects effectively, ensuring that customer requirements align with the company's strategies. This includes defining project requirements, managing schedules, providing updates to teams and clients, and ensuring compliance with safety policies. The role also involves overseeing document management processes, capturing customer-impacting events, and establishing key performance indicators for project measurement and verification. In addition to project management, the Facility Program Manager will maintain high levels of customer and employee satisfaction while ensuring profitability. This includes managing project information across departments, documenting and escalating issues, and communicating effectively with various BGIS departments to maximize opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction. The role requires the ability to evaluate emerging industry standards and communicate technical information clearly to both internal teams and clients. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Completes assigned projects by utilizing appropriate resources effectively and balancing customer requirements with company strategies.
  • Determines and facilitates the usage of internal and external resources required for the project.
  • Responsible for the successful management and completion of projects.
  • Defines customer project requirements and manages the project schedule as a visibility tool.
  • Provides ongoing updates to internal teams and customers regarding project status and progress.
  • Balances competing customer production priorities and negotiates compromises among projects.
  • Ensures all projects are performed safely and in accordance with BGIS Safety Policies/Procedures.
  • Oversees the document management process to ensure procedures and standards are established and maintained.
  • Captures all customer impacting and non-customer impacting events for proactive and preventative management.
  • Ensures compliance by consolidating training into a single system and producing high-level reporting.
  • Establishes Key Performance Indicators and Key Factors for the Measurement and Verification Phase.
  • Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems.
  • Provides proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements to existing equipment.
  • Ensures high customer and employee satisfaction while maintaining profitability.
  • Documents, manages, and escalates project and customer issues and concerns.
  • Communicates with other BGIS Departments to ensure agreements are managed and opportunities maximized.
  • Evaluates industry standards for best practices and coordinates opportunities with clients.
  • Explains technical information clearly to customers and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in all responsibilities of a Critical Facilities Engineer.
  • Journeyman HVAC commercial experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field of study or work experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in facility management or related field.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Operations and System configurations.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the critical electrical industry preferred.
  • Professional affiliations preferred (24x7, IFMA, Data Center Pulse).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio) required; working knowledge of SharePoint required.
  • Expert knowledge of Data Center Operations and System configurations required.
  • EPA Certification and contractor's license is a plus.
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure systems required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong team building and training skills.
