About the position

BGIS is seeking a Facility Program Manager to join the team in the US, working remotely. This role is crucial for supporting mission-critical center equipment systems, including power generation and distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies, static transfer switches, power distribution units (PDUs), building automation systems (BAS), building management systems (BMS), and HVAC equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, or have equivalent industry experience, along with proven customer service skills. Experience with industrial-level generators, uninterruptible power supplies, HVAC, and power conditioning equipment is highly beneficial. The candidate should be technically proficient with test equipment such as AC/DC amp probes, digital voltmeters, phase rotation meters, battery conductance testers, battery load testers, and micro-ohm meters. This position requires significant travel, with expectations of up to 75% travel for national and/or international assignments. Although the position is performed remotely, the candidate may need to travel to client locations for training, meetings, and other in-person events.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned projects by utilizing appropriate resources effectively and balancing customer requirements with company strategies.
  • Determine and facilitate the usage of internal and external resources required for projects.
  • Manage and ensure the successful completion of projects, defining customer project requirements.
  • Own, manage, and implement the project schedule as a visibility tool for project management and client management.
  • Provide ongoing updates to internal teams and customers regarding project status and progress.
  • Balance competing customer production priorities and negotiate compromises among projects.
  • Ensure all projects are performed safely and in accordance with BGIS Safety Policies/Procedures.
  • Oversee the document management process to ensure procedures and standards are established and maintained.
  • Capture all customer-impacting and non-customer-impacting events to enhance proactive and preventative measures (Problem/Incident Management).
  • Ensure compliance by consolidating training into a single system and producing high-level reporting.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators and Key Factors for the Measurement and Verification Phase.
  • Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of various electronic or digital control systems.
  • Provide proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements to existing equipment.
  • Ensure high customer and employee satisfaction while maintaining profitability.
  • Document, manage, and appropriately escalate project and customer issues and concerns.
  • Communicate with other BGIS departments to ensure successful management of agreements and maximize opportunities.
  • Evaluate industry standards as they emerge and coordinate potential opportunities with clients.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in all responsibilities of a Critical Facilities Engineer.
  • Journeyman HVAC commercial experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field of study or work experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in facility management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Operations and System configurations.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the critical electrical industry preferred.
  • Professional affiliations preferred (24x7, IFMA, Data Center Pulse).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio) required; working knowledge of SharePoint required.
  • Expert knowledge of Data Center Operations and System configurations required.
  • EPA Certification and contractor's license is a plus.
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure systems required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong team building and training skills required.
  • Working knowledge of typical mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems associated with Critical Environments preferred.
