About the position
The Facility Services Technician at The Marquardt is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on equipment, buildings, and furnishings. This role involves a variety of tasks including electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and appliance repairs, ensuring that the facility operates efficiently and safely. The technician will also respond to emergencies and perform on-call services as needed, contributing to a positive environment aligned with the organization's mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and promotes effective communication with all individuals.
- Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community.
- Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.
- Performs minor electrical maintenance including replacement or repair of fixtures.
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance such as repairing leaks in drains and faucets.
- Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work.
- Installs, repairs, and/or replaces appliances.
- Moves, reconfigures, installs, and positions furniture for residents and staff.
- Repairs, modifies, and replaces damaged or missing parts to sheet metal fixtures and equipment.
- Replaces and repairs ceiling tiles and ceiling grid systems.
- Removes blockages to drains and toilets using appropriate tools.
- Prioritizes work orders and completes them in a timely manner.
- Monitors trash area for waste services.
- Repairs, installs, and maintains metal and wood doors, locks, and closures.
- Performs routine system management and testing of life safety systems.
- Responds to facility or environmental emergencies.
- Assists with snow removal during shifts and may be called in outside normal hours.
- Responds to 24-hour emergency calls for assigned work area.
