About the position

LindenGrove Waukesha, an Illuminus Community, is seeking a dedicated Facility Services Technician (Maintenance Tech) to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22.60 to $25.00 and is focused on maintaining our beautiful campus, which provides assisted living, memory support, short-term rehabilitation, and long-term skilled care. As a Facility Services Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming for both residents and staff. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. You will perform repairs and installations of appliances, manage furniture configurations, and address any issues related to the facility's infrastructure. Your ability to communicate effectively with all individuals and maintain a positive image of the community will be essential. You will also be required to respond to on-call services and emergencies, ensuring that our residents' needs are met promptly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to quality outcomes and services, a good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to adapt to changing situations. You will be expected to prioritize work orders and complete them in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality and exercising independent judgment. This position requires a valid driver's license and a good driving record, as you may need to travel for work-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
  • Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community, keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.
  • Performs minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures such as wall switches, outlets, and bulbs.
  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance, including replacement or repair of leaks in drains, faucets, and toilets.
  • Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work, including preparing surfaces and applying paints, stains, and varnishes.
  • Installs, repairs, and/or replaces appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, hoods, and microwaves.
  • Moves, reconfigures, installs, and positions furniture for residents and/or staff.
  • Repairs, modifies, and replaces damaged or missing parts to sheet metal fixtures and equipment.
  • Replaces and repairs ceiling tiles and ceiling grid systems to correct damaged tiles.
  • Removes blockages to drains and toilets to restore flow and drainage of wastewater.
  • Prioritizes work orders/work requests and completes them in a timely manner.
  • Monitors trash area for waste services, including trash rooms and recyclable bins.
  • Repairs, installs, and maintains metal and wood doors, locks, and closures.
  • Performs routine system management and testing of life safety systems.
  • Responds to facility or environmental emergencies, including power outages and gas leaks.
  • Assists with snow removal during shifts and may be called in to assist outside normal work hours.
  • Responds to 24-hour emergency calls for assigned work area.
