About the position

The Facility Solutions Associate III role at Hensel Phelps is a pivotal position focused on delivering process solutions for the effective implementation of facility services and operations. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of facility management, construction projects, and systems integration. The successful candidate will work closely with technical experts to prepare process documentation that aligns with company guidelines and philosophies. This includes developing both written and graphical materials to support the documentation of systems and solutions, ensuring that all processes are well-documented and communicated effectively across teams. In this position, the Associate will coordinate with other members of the Solutions staff, leveraging their knowledge and experience to determine the most effective processes based on collaboration with design and engineering firms. The role also involves reading and interpreting project design documents and specifications, making field observations to verify construction status, and reporting on MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) activities. The Associate will be expected to research and gather input from various internal and external resources, contributing to the ongoing success of Hensel Phelps by ensuring that all facility solutions are executed to the highest standards. The Facility Solutions Associate III will also be responsible for other duties as assigned, which may include engaging in continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the overall operational goals of the Facility Services Group. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and efficiency of facility operations, making it a critical component of Hensel Phelps' commitment to delivering exceptional service to its clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and deliver process solutions for facility services and operations.
  • Prepare process documentation in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Develop written and graphical materials to support documentation of systems and solutions.
  • Coordinate with other members of the Solutions staff.
  • Determine processes based on knowledge and experience with design/engineering firms.
  • Read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Research and collect input from multiple internal and external resources.
  • Make field observations for verification and reporting of construction status regarding MEPF activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering, construction, or facilities management.
  • Eight (8+) years of experience with construction projects, MEPF coordination, commissioning, and facility maintenance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Working knowledge of ASHRE standards and codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret project design documents and submittals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ten (10+) years of experience in a related field.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Associate Commissioning Professional (ACP).
  • Tradesman License (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical) or Systems Management Certificate (SMC).
  • DAMA-accredited Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Associate.
