About the position

The Facility Technical Manager position is a critical role responsible for overseeing the technical maintenance of a dialysis facility. This position requires a strong leader who can supervise technical employees and ensure that all operations align with established policies and practices. The Facility Technical Manager will exercise considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge to solve problems that arise within the facility. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of care that Innovative Renal Care is known for, as it directly impacts the safety and well-being of patients and staff alike. In this position, the Facility Technical Manager will participate in various human resource functions, including recruiting, hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations for technical staff. They will also be involved in the selection of outside service contractors, ensuring that all work performed meets the facility's standards. The manager will oversee repairs and maintenance related to medical equipment, water treatment systems, and the physical plant, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Additionally, the Facility Technical Manager will develop policies and procedures for alternative water supplies, coordinating with medical directors and outside vendors as necessary. They will maintain medical supply inventories and conduct in-services for facility staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements. Acting as the facility's Safety Officer, the manager will participate in facility surveys and the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program, ensuring that the facility meets all safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the recruiting, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary procedures of facility technical employees.
  • Participates in the selection of outside service contractors and oversees work performed.
  • Performs and supervises all repairs and maintenance related to medical equipment, water treatment systems, physical plant, and associated systems.
  • Develops policies and procedures for alternative water supplies and coordinates implementation with outside vendors if applicable.
  • Maintains and controls medical supply inventories.
  • Conducts relevant in-services for facility staff as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal, State, OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory agencies, completing and maintaining required records and documentation.
  • Acts as the facility's Safety Officer.
  • Participates in all facility surveys and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in dialysis in the last 4 years preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a medical/technical environment preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively with clients and fellow employees.
