About the position

The Facility Trades Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and daily operations of the River Trails Park District's facilities and infrastructure. This role includes managing both full-time and part-time staff, ensuring efficient completion of maintenance tasks, and maintaining safety standards across the district's facilities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the efficient completion of maintenance tasks
• Manages maintenance personnel including recruiting, hiring, training, disciplining, and evaluating
• Assigns maintenance tasks and supervises facilities maintenance employees
• Oversees internal and contracted projects at the discretion of the Superintendent of Parks
• Assists with snow removal operations
• Oversees expenses and follows purchasing policy procedures
• Creates the personnel budget for the staff overseen by the Facility Trades Manager
• Assists in developing budget requirements for playground and facility maintenance operations

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant facilities maintenance experience
• 2 years of supervisory experience
• Strong background in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and construction
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Valid Illinois driver's license
