Factory Automation Engineer

About the position

We are seeking a Factory Automation Engineer to drive Industry 4.0 initiatives in manufacturing. This role is critical in integrating automation, control systems, and digital transformation solutions to enhance factory efficiency. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal IT teams, engineering, and vendors to design, implement, and sustain advanced automation solutions for a smart manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain automated control systems to optimize factory operations.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams to coordinate and advance smart manufacturing initiatives.
• Develop real-time monitoring tools for data-driven decision-making.
• Design detailed electrical schematics, control diagrams, and software for automation solutions.
• Program and integrate PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other industrial control systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell).
• Diagnose and resolve automation issues to ensure reliability and efficiency of factory processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standard work procedures, and execution plans.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of control systems, electrical circuits, and industrial automation.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Ability to compile and maintain standard work documentation.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram programming.
• Understanding of Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and other industrial protocols.
• Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, EPLAN) for control diagrams.
• Familiarity with Ignition, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, and APIs.
• Experience with robotics, motion control, and manufacturing process automation.
• Knowledge of smart manufacturing and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) applications.
