Factory Commissioning Group Lead - Rolling Stock

About the position

Siemens Mobility is building the future of rail transportation through advanced, sustainable passenger rail vehicles. We're looking for a Group Lead to manage a team of technicians responsible for validation testing and daily operations in a manufacturing line environment. This hands-on leadership role is fully embedded on the factory floor. You will coordinate testing activities, ensure the team & vehicle systems meet safety and quality standards, and support troubleshooting during production. The Group Lead will work closely with engineering, production, and commissioning teams to keep testing on track and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians in validation testing during rail car production
• Assign daily tasks based on schedule, readiness, and staffing
• Interpret test procedures and technical documentation to guide accurate execution
• Support troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and software issues
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve issues
• Track test progress, ensure documentation, and escalate delays
• Promote safety, enforce standards, and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading teams to exceptional results in a manufacturing or testing environment within the last 5 years
• Ability to communicate with confidence across all levels - shop floor to leadership
• Use data to drive decisions, track performance, and highlight areas for improvement
