About the position

The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is seeking accomplished faculty at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) to join its mission-driven research community focused on genetic and genomic research. The role involves developing a strong externally funded research program, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to the advancement of human health through innovative research in various fields such as aging, cancer, and neuroscience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a strong externally funded research program.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address important problems in human health and disease.
  • Mentor and teach students and junior researchers.
  • Present research findings at conferences and workshops.
  • Contribute to team projects and foster a collaborative research environment.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D., or DVM degree with relevant postdoctoral training.
  • Demonstrated potential for securing external research funding.
  • Distinguished record of published research for Associate and Full Professor ranks.
  • Experience managing projects and collaboration.
  • Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Successful record of mentoring and/or teaching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in computational biology and data science.
  • Familiarity with functional genomics and genetic disorders.
  • Prior experience in presenting at international conferences.
