The Faculty position in CCIT/Cybersecurity at St. Petersburg College is primarily focused on instruction, coaching, and student development. Faculty members are expected to guide classes effectively, maintain accurate records of student attendance and work, and prepare thoroughly for each instructional hour. They are responsible for creating a safe and orderly learning environment, grading and returning student work promptly, and counseling students regarding their academic progress. This role also involves developing and maintaining a quality program of instruction, providing service to the college, and engaging in continuing professional development. Faculty members will teach a broad range of Cybersecurity courses, design curriculum, and maintain regular office hours. They are expected to stay updated on current teaching methods and technology, utilize assessment techniques to enhance learning, and participate in college or department committees as needed. Additionally, faculty members will support extracurricular activities, assist in establishing course goals and objectives, and maintain communication with other instructors to ensure course relevance and quality. Other professional duties may include sponsoring student activities, providing job placement services, and participating in professional organizations that align with the college's educational mission. Faculty members will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, and upgrading the Cybersecurity lab for course-related projects.
