About the position

The Faculty position in Cybersecurity & Forensics at Austin Community College is responsible for preparing and delivering engaging coursework for associate and bachelor degree programs. This role involves providing instruction both in-person and through various distance learning modalities, focusing on equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet local industry needs in cybersecurity and forensics. The position emphasizes a commitment to student success and community engagement, starting in January 2025.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach courses in Cybersecurity and Forensics to a diverse student population.
• Utilize various instructional strategies to meet the needs of community college students.
• Participate in departmental governance, including curriculum review and program assessment.
• Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Serve as a mentor to students in the Computer Science and Information Technology program.
• Engage in professional development activities to remain current in the field.
• Support departmental goals through active participation in decision-making and planning.
• Serve on collegewide and departmental committees and task forces.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by department leadership.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, Computer or Software Engineering, or related fields with 18 graduate hours in these disciplines.
• Three years of non-teaching, industry-related work experience in Computer Science and Information Technology, specifically in cybersecurity and forensics.
