About the position

At Palm Beach State College, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where ideas flourish and the community thrives. As a faculty member, you will play a crucial role in instructing college students, utilizing educational theories and techniques to enhance their learning experience. Your responsibilities will include developing curricula related to your discipline, assessing student learning outcomes, and participating in program evaluations and college activities. You will also serve on various committees, contributing to the overall mission and strategic plan of the College. This position is a 168-day, tenure-track role, which means you will be on a path toward a continuing contract. Faculty members are expected to teach 45 points, maintain office hours, and engage in college business activities, which may include serving on committees, attending meetings, and participating in special projects. As a tenure-track professor, you will need to successfully complete a five-year process to earn a continuing contract for ongoing employment. The teaching assignment hours may vary, and it is essential to submit official or non-web based unofficial transcripts with your application, as applications lacking these documents will not be considered. We are looking for candidates who possess a Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology Engineering, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the aforementioned fields. Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work nights and weekends across multiple campuses, is required. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom and possess cultural competency to engage with a diverse student population. Preferred qualifications include experience in Networking and Cybersecurity, as well as certifications such as A+, Network +, or Security +. Please note that degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions, and foreign degrees must be validated by a recognized organization. The minimum base pay for this position starts at $50,000 annually, with potential variations based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct college students in accordance with educational theories and techniques.
