About the position

The Faculty Dual Career and Relocation Specialist at Purdue University plays a crucial role in enhancing the faculty experience by providing comprehensive employment support to spouses and partners, as well as personalized relocation services for new and prospective faculty members. This position aims to ensure a smooth transition into the Purdue community, contributing to faculty recruitment and retention efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Network with university departments and external employers to assist dual-career spouses and partners in securing employment.
  • Meet with relocating faculty and candidates to provide relevant materials and resources about the local area and university policies.
  • Offer job search support, including resume critiques, mock interviews, and referrals to job networking resources.
  • Build strong relationships with employers and stay informed of employment trends and best practices to enhance program success.
  • Provide comprehensive relocation services, including information on community resources, local entertainment, financial institutions, transportation, and diversity initiatives.
  • Offer guidance on Purdue's policies, benefits, retirement plans, and other employee perks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, marketing, or sales.
  • One (1) year of previous experience in a related field, such as sales, recruiting, or career counseling.
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience: Associate's + 4 years experience or HS/GED + 6 years of experience.
  • A valid US or Canadian driver's license.
  • Experience in using social media to engage and connect with partners and employers.
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Analytical and data management skills with the ability to translate data into action planning.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in influencing people.
