About the position

The University of Denver Sturm College of Law is seeking dedicated and innovative individuals for the position of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor of the Practice of Law to teach in its Lawyering Process Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching two sections of the Lawyering Process course, which focuses on foundational legal skills, and may also have the opportunity to teach an additional upper-division elective course. This position is expected to commence no later than August 1, 2025, with an initial appointment lasting two, five, or seven years depending on rank, and is eligible for renewal and promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in outstanding and innovative teaching, imparting relevant doctrinal knowledge and professional skills.
  • Teach two sections of Lawyering Process, a required first-year course.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Lawyering Process Program to adapt and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor or equivalent degree(s) from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent legal research, analysis, reasoning, writing, and communication skills.
  • At least two years of legal practice experience.

Nice-to-haves
