About the position

The Faculty, Networking and Cybersecurity position at Davidson-Davie Community College is focused on designing and implementing effective learning strategies for students enrolled in the Networking & Cybersecurity Program. The role involves developing course syllabi, instructional materials, and maintaining instructional records, while also engaging in student recruitment, advisement, and retention efforts. Faculty members are expected to participate in college activities and committees, contributing to the overall mission and initiatives of the college.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement learning strategies for students in the Networking & Cybersecurity Program.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain instructional records for courses taught.
• Engage in student recruitment, advisement, and retention activities.
• Develop and evaluate courses, programs, and services.
• Participate in college activities and committees.
• Perform other duties that support the mission and initiatives of the college.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in an Information Technology or Computer Science related field.
• At least two years of experience in an IT-related field.
• Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Information Technology, Industrial Technology, Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related field with 18 graduate credit hours in Information Technology or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
• Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, CISCO, Microsoft, etc.).
• Teaching experience in a community college or related work experience.
• Experience teaching Information Technology and/or Computer Science classes.
