About the position

The University of Chicago's Biological Sciences Division and the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center are seeking faculty members at all ranks (full, associate, or assistant professor) with a focus on cancer health equity. The appointees will join the Center to Eliminate Cancer Inequity (CinEQUITY) and will engage in transformative equity-focused research aimed at addressing cancer health disparities in partnership with local communities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research focused on cancer health equity and disparities.
  • Collaborate with community partners to implement solutions for eliminating cancer disparities.
  • Mentor doctoral and post-doctoral trainees in cancer health equity research.
  • Participate in educational workshops addressing diversity and inclusion topics.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with other divisions and institutes at the University of Chicago.

Requirements

  • Hold a doctoral degree or equivalent prior to employment.
  • Demonstrated research experience in cancer health equity or related fields.
  • Track record of NCI grant funding for established investigators or K support for early-stage investigators.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in health communication, implementation science, or data sciences.
  • Research focus on specific cancers such as breast, colorectal, HPV-related, liver, lung, and prostate.
  • Interest in key risk factors like obesity, tobacco, chemicals, viruses, and under-screening.
