About the position

The University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member for the Digital Media program to teach two courses focused on advanced video production in the Spring 2025 semester. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the video production process, including pre-production, production, and post-production, and will have experience in teaching related courses.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct two courses in advanced video production during the Spring 2025 semester.
  • Guide students through the entire video production process, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback on projects and assignments.
  • Develop course syllabi and instructional materials that align with program objectives.
  • Engage in relevant scholarship and research activities.

Requirements

  • A terminal degree or professional experience equivalent to a terminal degree.
  • Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in teaching courses related to producing for film, television, or other media.
  • One year of college-level teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated relevant scholarship/research/publication activity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated relevant professional experience in video and film production and editing.
  • Professional, produced credits, or significant festival screenings.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects software.
