About the position

The Department of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor. The role emphasizes the development and application of advanced imaging techniques to assess cardiovascular and neurological conditions, utilizing deep learning and other innovative methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct active translational research blending clinical studies with technology developments.
  • Investigate connections between cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
  • Develop and apply advanced radiologic imaging techniques for assessing cardio and vascular structures.
  • Utilize advanced image processing methods, including deep learning concepts.
  • Research mechanisms of heart-brain interactions in various cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
  • Implement highly accelerated MRI and reconstruction techniques for improved evaluations.
  • Engage in deep learning for advanced data processing and phenotyping of cardio- and neurovascular abnormalities.

Requirements

  • PhD in computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, biomedical engineering, medical imaging, or a related field.
  • Experience in radiology imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, and PET.
  • Proficiency in algorithm development for deep learning architectures.
  • Strong background in clinical translational imaging and advanced mathematics.
  • Demonstrated success in extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications.
