About the position

The University of California San Francisco is seeking research faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Department of Ophthalmology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a substantial research program, engage in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in campus graduate programs. This position encourages applications from candidates studying various fields related to the visual system, particularly those with expertise in stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, genome engineering, neurobiology, genetics, cell and molecular biology, and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a substantial research program in vision research.
  • Engage in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in campus graduate programs.
  • Contribute to the scientific community at UCSF and the Bay Area.

Requirements

  • PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
  • Evidence of high-quality independent research.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, genome engineering, neurobiology, genetics, cell and molecular biology, and artificial intelligence.
