About the position

The Faculty Support Coordinator at the School of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences is responsible for providing administrative and financial support to assigned faculty members and their research groups. This role involves coordinating proposal preparations, managing correspondence, processing financial transactions, and assisting with hiring processes. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and sponsors.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate proposal preparation and submission, including data collection and editing.
  • Compile information and prepare drafts of correspondence and reports.
  • Process check requests and coordinate monthly purchase statement reconciliation.
  • Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) with administrative policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with the financial office regarding sponsored project oversight.
  • Coordinate the hiring process for assigned groups, including arranging transportation and accommodation for new employees.
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings, seminars, and video conferences.
  • Maintain faculty calendars and update faculty CVs and databases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five to seven years of job-related experience.
  • Working knowledge of administrative support processes in an academic/research environment.
  • Skills in financial record keeping, report writing, communications, and customer service.
  • Proficiency in office and specialized computer applications and systems.
