About the position

The Overnight Stock Controller at H-E-B is a leadership role responsible for managing the overnight stocking team, ensuring a well-stocked and maintained department while delivering excellent customer service. This position involves supervisory duties such as scheduling, training, and developing team members, as well as maintaining inventory standards. The role is crucial for the overall success of the store, providing opportunities for career growth within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and provision a well-stocked and well-maintained department.
  • Assist with work scheduling and training of Partners.
  • Communicate performance and operational needs to the Department Manager.
  • Coach and develop Partners, assisting with onboarding and training.
  • Provide input on writing schedules and report on overnight attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory management SOPs and processes.
  • Deliver key results such as A+ Standards and hospitality.
  • Provide excellent customer service and model superior service for the team.
  • Answer customer questions and assist with product selections.
  • Merchandise products effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • 3+ months of experience in stocking or customer service.
  • Experience leading an overnight team or large teams in other areas (preferred).
  • Completion of forklift/power jack training.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work overnight schedules.
  • Ability to operate pallet jack/baler.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks.
