About the position

As a Business Analyst Intern at Parsons, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with business leaders and the Business Process Optimization & Intelligent Automation team to identify, analyze, and enhance business processes across the organization. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business transformation while developing essential skills in process improvement and automation technologies. You will be immersed in a dynamic team environment where you can contribute to meaningful projects that drive efficiency and innovation. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and document existing business processes. Utilizing various business analysis and design thinking techniques, you will analyze data and documentation to pinpoint inefficiencies and areas ripe for improvement. Your contributions will include assisting in the creation and documentation of business requirements for future technical solutions, as well as supporting the development and implementation of low-code automation solutions aimed at optimizing these processes. Additionally, you will monitor and report on the performance of automation solutions, identifying opportunities for further refinement. Your role will also involve developing communications and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring that your findings and recommendations are effectively conveyed. This internship is designed to help you build a strong foundation in business analysis and automation, preparing you for a successful career in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leaders to document existing business processes.
  • Analyze data and documentation to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in creating and documenting business requirements for future technical solutions.
  • Support the development and implementation of low-code automation solutions.
  • Monitor and report on automation solution performance, identifying areas for refinement.
  • Assist in the development of communications and presentations for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of business process modeling and improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with automation technologies, including emerging AI technologies.
  • Basic proficiency in digital tools for data analysis and documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing automations on low-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform, Automation Anywhere).
  • Experience using design thinking techniques such as interviewing, observing, journey mapping, and brainstorming.
  • 6 months - 1 year of industry experience.
