About the position

The Fall 2025 Co-Op position in Functional Assays at Bristol-Myers Squibb offers an opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in the discovery and development of innovative biologics. The role focuses on biotherapeutic screening and lead identification, allowing students to contribute to a dynamic team that utilizes various assays to evaluate therapeutic candidates. This hands-on experience is designed to enhance the students' understanding of biologics discovery while making a meaningful impact on drug discovery processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell-based antibody internalization assays in support of screening efforts against oncology targets.
• Evaluate next generation fluorescent dyes for assays involving intracellular trafficking or internalized antibodies.
• Conduct biochemical and cell-based assay development, including miniaturization of existing 96-well plate format into 384-well plate format using liquid handler automation.
• Record experiments and data in electronic laboratory notebooks in sufficient detail and in a timely fashion.
• Participate and contribute during scientific discussions.
• Analyze data and present project findings at the conclusion of the program.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
• Must have completed a minimum of 2 years of study towards a bachelor's degree by June 2025.
• Basic laboratory skills (via lab course, academic lab, or industry lab) are required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) are necessary.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
