About the position

Textron Aviation is seeking a highly motivated intern to enhance their manufacturing and industrial knowledge through hands-on experience. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will play a crucial role in contributing to aircraft build plans, production tooling, and manufacturing processes for various components and assemblies. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on projects that may include redesigning tooling to improve the operators' work environment, automating processes, enhancing facility layouts for optimal product flow, creating reference documents and standard practices, implementing quality improvements, and exploring new equipment and software. Interns will gain exposure to a wide variety of disciplines, including lean manufacturing, electrical engineering, computer science, aircraft environmental systems, structures, and robotics. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and apply their knowledge in a practical setting, while also developing their skills in a collaborative team environment. The internship requires candidates to work onsite for the entirety of the program, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to aircraft build plans and production tooling.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET), Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Technology, or related fields.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team-based environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and CAD.
