About the position

The Fall Co-Op position in Production Control & Logistics at Textron Aviation involves assisting in maintaining the system integrity of material requirements and replenishments. The role focuses on optimizing inventory levels, production capacity, and material management to ensure that the supply chain operates efficiently. The intern will perform a variety of analytical duties following Material Demand Indicators (MDIs) and Standard Work Instructions to determine material requirements and approve demand/supply for raw materials, purchased, and manufactured materials. The intern will be responsible for determining Material Requirements Planning (MRP) policies and maintaining inputs for material ordering and control. This includes releasing replenishments and driving requirements through the MRP system. The role requires utilizing bills of materials, master schedules, production schedules, aftermarket forecasts, manufacturing planning, engineering information, and departmental guidelines to determine adequate material quantities to ensure on-time supply to customers. Additionally, the intern will review engineering changes, planning, and quality information to adjust production orders as necessary. Analyzing shortage information to determine causes and applying corrective actions for long-term shortage resolution is also a key responsibility. The intern will coordinate frequently with various departments including Production Control & Logistics (PC&L), Tooling, Supply Chain, Operations, Master Scheduling, Engineering, Manufacturing Planning, and After Market to obtain and provide necessary information. Participation in area team walks and continuous improvement activities may also be required.
