About the position

The FamilyCare Pack R&D team is seeking a Senior Scientist specializing in material development and ingredient technology integration to advance our sustainable packaging initiatives in compliance with Senate Bill 54. This role focuses on crafting packaging solutions that drive business success and support our dedication to sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and integration of sustainable ingredient technologies into packaging materials.
  • Innovate and develop new packaging formats using renewable and recyclable materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging innovations meet sustainability goals and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct research and development to explore new materials and technologies for sustainable applications.
  • Drive the execution of learning plans, process scale-up, and technical documentation related to material development.
  • Partner with external vendors to source and evaluate sustainable materials and technologies.
  • Act as a single-point contact for packaging format development, aligning with cross-functional partners including MPD, M&S, PS, ENG, PR, QA, GPS, and Analytical.

Requirements

  • PhD in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on sustainable materials or packaging technology is preferred.
  • Confirmed experience in material development with an emphasis on ingredient technology integration for packaging solutions.
  • Strong understanding of consumer-material-converting relationships and their technical synergies.
  • Experience in modeling and simulation to optimize material properties and packaging performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of articulating sophisticated technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with GMP compliance and experience in regulated product development.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $149,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year.
