About the position

The Family Functional Therapy (FFT) Specialist at the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) is responsible for overseeing and expanding a successful family intervention program aimed at supporting dysfunctional youth. This role involves managing service delivery, training staff, and coordinating with multiple agencies to ensure effective treatment and support for families with youth in OJA custody or supervision. The FFT Specialist will also track data and outcomes to enhance program effectiveness and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and expand the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) program for dysfunctional youth.
  • Train and hire personnel for the FFT program.
  • Manage service reimbursement processes for FFT services.
  • Conduct regular visits to local offices to ensure proper application of agency policies and procedures.
  • Perform on-site reviews of local records and staff work activities to evaluate program quality.
  • Prepare written reports on the status and progress of local programs and present findings to the state office.
  • Advise local administrators on staffing, organization, and management of programs.
  • Coordinate FFT referrals and assist with service initiation for families.
  • Participate in weekly staffing to review FFT referrals and ensure alignment with criteria.
  • Generate comprehensive reports for funding sources and oversee compliance with reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, child support, child welfare, or related field.
  • Three years of professional experience in relevant areas such as juvenile justice, rehabilitation counseling, or community-based youth services.
  • Knowledge of agency policies and procedures, state and federal legislation related to assigned programs.
  • Ability to evaluate programs and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
