About the position

The Family Health Educator position is a community-based role focused on serving the residents of the Pueblo of San Felipe. The primary responsibilities include recruiting families for services, conducting home visits, assisting with parent sessions, and implementing the Family Spirit curriculum. This position aims to provide education on parenting and support families in their developmental and wellness needs.

Responsibilities

• Recruit families for services and conduct home visits.
• Assist with parent sessions and coordinate referrals.
• Administer assessments and implement the Family Spirit curriculum.
• Participate in building partnerships with tribal programs and families.
• Conduct developmental screenings and adult wellness screenings.
• Collect client data and complete daily data entry for services delivered.
• Maintain accurate records of home visits, screenings, referrals, and reports.
• Prepare and disseminate educational and marketing material.
• Organize recruitment and outreach activities.
• Collaborate with KEVA staff in developing and implementing educational workshops.

Requirements

• Associates or Art (AA) degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience working in an early childhood setting.
• Understanding of adult and child learning theory.
• Ability to communicate in Keres language and awareness of cultural parenting practices.
• Valid driver's license.
