O'Neill Law Firm, LLC is seeking a qualified full-time or close to full-time paralegal to join its Family Law practice. The primary responsibilities of the paralegal will include drafting standard Family Law documents such as letters, court orders, and standard forms. Occasionally, the paralegal will be tasked with drafting more complex documents like motions, under the direction of an attorney. Additionally, the paralegal will handle and supervise the scheduling of matters, manage client contacts, and respond to letters and messages from clients. The firm values professionalism at all times, and the ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is not intimidated to ask questions when needed, demonstrating good people skills and empathy for clients navigating challenging situations. Candidates should have a background in paralegal studies or equivalent experience, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications, is essential. Understanding attorney confidentiality rules and maintaining the privacy of clients and their matters is crucial. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Education in paralegal studies or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2 years of experience as a paralegal preferred.

  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to ask questions when needed.
  • Good people skills with empathy for clients in distressing situations.
  • Understanding of attorney confidentiality rules and maintaining client privacy.
  • Professionalism at all times.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a legal assistant, attorney, counsel, or legal secretary.
  • Experience specifically in Family Law.
