About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team at Lewellen Family Law Group. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to our attorneys and contribute significantly to the success of our family law practice. The Family Law Paralegal will be responsible for managing complex legal files and documents, conducting thorough research using Westlaw and other legal databases, and performing various legal administrative tasks. In this role, you will assist attorneys in preparing legal documents and pleadings for court proceedings, ensuring that all legal documents are properly filed and maintained in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. You will also provide clerical support to attorneys, which includes preparing correspondence and court filings, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and files, and ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with organizing and managing complex legal files and documents.
  • Conduct thorough research using Westlaw and other legal databases.
  • Perform legal administrative tasks, including data entry, mailings, and phone calls.
  • Prepare legal documents and pleadings for court proceedings.
  • Provide clerical support to attorneys, including preparing correspondence and court filings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.
  • Ensure all legal documents are properly filed and maintained in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency with legal software and technology, including CLIO.
  • Experience in a legal setting, preferably in family law and civil litigation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in civil litigation (3 years preferred).
  • Ability to relocate to Sacramento, CA before starting work.
