As a Family Law Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys with various legal tasks related to family law cases. Your responsibilities will include preparing legal documents, scheduling attorney and case appointments, and interviewing clients to gather relevant information for their cases. You will work closely with other staff members in trial preparation and follow up on pre-trial matters, ensuring that all necessary documentation and communication are handled efficiently. In this role, you will also be responsible for daily communication with court staff, judicial assistants, clerks of court, and other professionals involved in family law cases. Your ability to draft fundamental pleadings and basic client-related communications will be essential to the success of our legal team. We are looking for someone who can multitask effectively and work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents related to family law cases
  • Handle attorney and case scheduling tasks
  • Interview clients to gather case-relevant information
  • Work closely with other staff in trial preparation and follow up on pre-trial matters
  • Communicate daily with Court staff, Judicial Assistants, Clerk of Court and other professionals
  • Draft fundamental pleadings and basic client-related communications

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Paralegal in a law office setting
  • Knowledge of family law Court procedures and terminology
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Proficiency in computer applications using Word and Excel
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Sense of humor
