About the position

The Family Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care position at Texas Children's Hospital is a part-time role focused on providing age-appropriate care in a fast-paced environment. The Nurse Practitioner will work under the supervision of site physicians and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver effective patient care. This role involves independent responsibilities in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment initiation, adhering to established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Works independently to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients, consulting with physician as needed.
• Documents information in patient's chart regarding assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education.
• Provides verbal and/or written information regarding treatment regimens in language that is understandable and appropriate for the patient and/or caregiver.
• Records diagnosis/CPT in an accurate, timely manner to ensure prompt posting of charges per site protocol.
• Participates in site meetings and provides input to address patient care issues or operational concerns.

Requirements

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing licensure Compact required.
• FNP-BC certification from the Texas Board of Nursing required.
• BLS or PALS certification from the American Heart Association required.
