About the position
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) at Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties (CCIEC) will provide primary care services to individuals and families, focusing on prevention, health promotion, and disease management. The role aims to improve healthcare access for underserved populations, ensuring they receive high-quality care in a compassionate and culturally sensitive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess the physical status of patients of all ages through histories, examination, and diagnostic tests.
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays, ECGs, and other special examinations.
- Develop and implement therapeutic plans for health maintenance, prevention, and management of illness.
- Conduct well child examinations following American Academy of Pediatric Bright Futures guidelines.
- Maintain competency in child- and adulthood immunization schedules.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and/or their guardians.
- Perform minor office surgical or therapeutic procedures.
- Provide comprehensive care planning for clients with chronic diseases.
- Serve as a consultant to nursing staff and other health care professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Comply with clinical expectations as per Family Health Center Provider Job Expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional telephone on-call duties.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing
- Minimum one-year experience in Nurse Practitioner setting
- Registered nurse, currently licensed to practice in Michigan
- Certified as Family Nurse Practitioner
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
