About the position

The Nurse Practitioner role at the US Job Corps Center in Anaconda, MT, is designed for healthcare professionals who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of students. This part-time position offers the opportunity to conduct health assessments, manage medical conditions, and provide health education, all while working in a supportive environment dedicated to student care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical exams and health assessments for students upon entry and periodically.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications.
  • Monitor and manage chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and mental health disorders.
  • Provide education on preventive healthcare measures, including vaccinations, nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Conduct health education workshops on topics like sexual health, substance abuse prevention, stress management, and hygiene.
  • Refer students to external healthcare providers and collaborate closely with Job Corps staff to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on each student's health needs and goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Valid MT State license
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
