The Nurse Practitioner role at the US Job Corps Center in Anaconda, MT, is designed for healthcare professionals who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of students. This part-time position offers the opportunity to conduct health assessments, manage medical conditions, and provide health education, all while working in a supportive environment dedicated to student care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical exams and health assessments for students upon entry and periodically.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications.
- Monitor and manage chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and mental health disorders.
- Provide education on preventive healthcare measures, including vaccinations, nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Conduct health education workshops on topics like sexual health, substance abuse prevention, stress management, and hygiene.
- Refer students to external healthcare providers and collaborate closely with Job Corps staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on each student's health needs and goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner
- Valid MT State license
- Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
