About the position

The Family Preservation Therapist at National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) plays a crucial role in delivering Intensive In-Home Mental Health Services to adolescents, youth, and families in Hamilton County, OH. This position involves working closely with clients referred by various county agencies, providing therapy, advocacy, and support to help families live safely and successfully in their communities. The therapist will manage a small caseload and coordinate services across multiple domains, ensuring consistent progress towards treatment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, and family mental health therapy, case management, transportation, and other professional services to clients served.
  • Manages a small caseload, traveling daily to provide Intensive In-Home Services to youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Meets with each client 2-3 times per week.
  • Coordinates and monitors services for youth and families in community mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services.
  • Regularly reviews and modifies youth-based plans to assure consistent progress and success on written plan goals.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with assigned foster parents and families of origin.
  • Assists in family reunification and/or stabilization efforts with the youth's primary family or other permanent living arrangements consistent with the youth's case plan.
  • Provides safety assessment, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services as required to assure safety and stability for youth served.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
  • LSW or LPC required.
  • Experience in providing both individual and family therapy.
  • Experience working in direct service with youth and families strongly preferred.
  • Experience with TF-CBT preferred.
  • Daily travel required with the willingness to meet clients on a flexible schedule or during non-traditional hours if needed.
  • Must be comfortable providing services in the community and in client homes.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
  • Good computer and technology skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) preferred.
