About the position

The Family Service Advisor role focuses on pre-need funeral and cemetery arrangements, providing compassionate support to families planning for the future. This full-time position involves educating clients on the benefits of advance funeral planning, selling related services and merchandise, and promoting the importance of pre-planning within the community. Advisors will work with clients to ensure their wishes are honored while alleviating the emotional burden during difficult times.

Responsibilities

• Selling funeral services, merchandise, and cemetery property.
• Making sales presentations to potential clients.
• Prospecting and obtaining referrals from the community.
• Promoting the benefits of pre-planning through community engagement.
• Providing detailed information on products and services, including costs and financing options.
• Effectively closing sales and managing client relationships.
• Calling on company-provided leads to generate sales opportunities.
• Conducting informational seminars and group presentations.

Requirements

• Pre-need funeral sales and/or cemetery sales experience is required.
• Professional and well-mannered appearance and demeanor.
• Attention to detail and a desire to help families, especially seniors.
• Ability to pass a full background check.
• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience/education.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
• Strong integrity and ethical conduct.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently to meet performance standards and goals.
• Self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed.
• Strong work ethic and personal pride in quality of work.
• Basic computer skills and a current driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation and comfort with in-home sales.
