About the position

The Family Service Worker at BeAbove World Wide Institute plays a crucial role in supporting family services and engagement activities within a nonprofit children's organization. This position is responsible for the recruitment, eligibility determination, and enrollment of families into the program, ensuring that children receive the necessary support for their growth and development in a nurturing environment. The Family Service Worker maintains communication with families, tracks children's attendance, and collaborates with community agencies to provide resources, all while adhering to organizational policies and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of BeAbove Worldwide Institute.
• Complies with all organizational policies and procedures.
• Exhibits effective communication skills.
• Maintains a proper caseload.
• Assists families with eligibility determination and enrollment, ensuring all required documents are completed and filed.
• Conducts recruitment activities to maintain budgeted enrollment.
• Tracks children's attendance and follows up with families on absences.
• Follows up on overdue medicals and ensures children's health records are accurate and current.
• Collaborates with community agencies to identify resources for parents.
• Plans and facilitates monthly new parent orientation and parent meetings with other staff.
• Partners with families to complete Family Assessments and make referrals as needed.
• Assists in facilitating workshops and other activities for families.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School diploma and a Family Development Credential (FDC) or Associate Degree in Human Services or related field or Child Development Associate Credential (preferred).
• Knowledge of Head Start and DOE preferred.
• Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows application is required.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking (required).
