About the position

The Family Service Worker III position at the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency involves providing support at a Head Start site. The role is responsible for maintaining full enrollment at the site level, ensuring compliance with selection criteria and enrollment procedures, and delivering services to families. The position requires project coordination and collaboration with community partners to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain full enrollment at the Head Start site and ensure compliance with selection criteria and enrollment procedures.
  • Provide services to families enrolled in the Head Start program.
  • Coordinate projects, services, and activities, ensuring they are followed through to completion.
  • Accurately data enter enrollment applications into child tracking software databases within specified timelines.
  • Represent Head Start in coordinating services with various community partners.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to staff, including developing mentor relationships and training plans.
  • Monitor files for compliance, identify areas of noncompliance, and develop plans of correction.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field; OR Family Development Credential; OR the ability to earn one of the above within 18 months of hire.
  • At least two years of experience carrying a caseload of up to 80 Head Start/EHS families.
  • Experience working with community groups on a paid or volunteer basis is highly desirable.
  • Ability to coordinate projects and follow them through to conclusion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with child tracking software databases.
  • Previous experience in Head Start programs.
