About the position

The Family Services Program Manager at Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to various family services programs, including child protective services, family preservation, and adult services. This role involves collaboration with front-line supervisors and community partners to implement system changes and improve processes. The ideal candidate will utilize a strengths-based and solution-focused approach to enhance program development, quality assurance, and staff development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and program oversight to family services programs.
  • Collaborate with front-line supervisors and community partners to implement system changes.
  • Manage program development, process improvements, and quality assurance for Family Services programs.
  • Evaluate program processes, effectiveness, and quality of service delivery.
  • Track and monitor outcomes using strengths-based and trauma-informed methods.
  • Collect and analyze data to guide program evaluation and improvements.
  • Compile, interpret, and disseminate program data and information.
  • Provide ongoing education and training to supervisors and staff regarding best practices.
  • Establish performance measures and processes for consistent performance evaluation.
  • Participate in the Family Services leadership team and agency-wide leadership team.
  • Assist in budget preparation and review service effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work.
  • Two years of experience in child and family serving programs.
  • One year of supervisory experience or equivalent training and experience.
  • Child welfare experience in Virginia public social services preferred.
  • Experience compiling reports, correspondence, data, and narrative of case management and grant proposals.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices preferred.
