The Family Services Specialist is responsible for providing child care information, provider listings, and referrals to parents. This role also involves determining families eligible for School Readiness and Voluntary Prekindergarten services when appropriate. The specialist will provide child care information to all parents regardless of income level, facilitating parental choice through the identification of available services and assisting parents in evaluating the appropriateness of different child care settings. The specialist must convey child care information in a relaxed manner, problem-solve positively, and communicate sensitively to the needs and concerns of others. Additionally, the specialist will maintain confidentiality regarding information accessed in the performance of job duties, assist in maintaining the Wait List, and distribute approved written materials to parents, providers, businesses, and community leaders regarding CCR&R, the importance of quality early education, public policy, and parent education as requested. This position requires attending pertinent conferences, trainings, and meetings, and assisting in staffing community booths and children's festivals. The specialist is also responsible for implementing the coalition's anti-fraud plan related to prevention, detection, investigation, and reporting of possible overpayment resulting from potential fraud or abuse.
