About the position

The Bilingual Family Support Coach (BFSC) plays a crucial role in the Family Expectations Spanish program, which focuses on healthy relationships and parenting for low-income, pregnant couples. The BFSC provides comprehensive support, coaching, and resource connection to Spanish-speaking couples, guiding them through their program journey. This position involves conducting assessments, structured case management, and promoting employment and financial stability while ensuring two-parent family stability.

Responsibilities

  • Completes an introductory participant/couple needs assessment covering basic needs, financial, social, and emotional well-being.
  • Explains the program's requirements, benefits, and expectations, and establishes tailored family goals and a service plan based on assessment outcomes.
  • Identifies and addresses barriers to participation, actively promotes and encourages workshop attendance, and builds strong relationships with couples through multiple communication channels.
  • Provides structured case management during onsite office visits using Motivational Interviewing and other approved techniques.
  • Ensures accurate case notes and data entry in the Data Management System (DMS) while adhering to established protocols.
  • Provides referrals and support for job readiness training, and facilitates discussions on budgeting, saving, and debt management.
  • Serves as a program representative at community events and engages with potential participants and partners.
  • Meets programmatic goals and benchmarks, tracking progress and offering timely support to participants.
  • Actively participates in job-related training and professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Studies, Psychology or a related field, required.
  • One year of experience in social services and knowledge of community resources, particularly in areas related to family and employment stability.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, verbal and written communication.
  • Valid Driver License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques, preferred.
