About the position

The Family Support Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality services are provided to families while maintaining compliance with program standards. This role involves outreach, assessment, and establishing trusting relationships with families, as well as connecting them to community resources and managing their needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Outreach and recruitment of participants.
  • Establish and maintain a trusting and professional working relationship with families through home visitation.
  • Administer intake, assessments, and screening tools to clients and family members.
  • Assess family needs and refer to community resources as needed.
  • Schedule and plan family activities.
  • Purchase basic needs for families as required, with approval of the Program Supervisor.
  • Serve as liaison for families to community resources.
  • Meet with program supervisor bi-weekly to evaluate status of families on caseload.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and competence to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain computer literacy.
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Travel as needed and manage time effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned per grant requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with families in a related field required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • Maintain current licenses and certificates including First Aid and CPR.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check.
