About the position

The Family Support Provider position involves providing peer support services, advocating for consumers, and offering information and peer support in various settings including emergency, outpatient, or inpatient environments. The role is focused on assisting consumers in their recovery processes, helping them regain control of their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate peer support groups
  • Teach and mentor the value of every individual's recovery experience
  • Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies
  • Proactively engage consumers and possess communication skills/ability to transfer new concepts, ideas, and insight to others
  • Assist service recipients in articulating personal goals for recovery
  • Assist service recipients in determining the objectives needed to reach his/her recovery goals
  • Provide and advocate for effective recovery-oriented services
  • Assist consumers in obtaining services that suit that individual's recovery needs
  • Inform consumers about community and natural supports and how to utilize these in the recovery process
  • Assist consumers in developing empowerment skills through self-advocacy
  • De-escalate consumers when needed using TherapeuticOptions (TherOps) training
  • Demonstrate confidentiality regarding all aspects of cases

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist
  • Current certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist
  • Demonstrated participation in advocacy in and/or personal knowledge of recovery

Benefits

  • Full-time employment
  • Annual Salary of $34,500 ($16.58/hr.)
  • Primary Working Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm M-F
