About the position

The Family Support Specialist at AMIkids Piedmont is responsible for executing family engagement and psychoeducation processes for youth entering and leaving the program. This role involves providing in-home family skills training, coordinating community support, and developing partnerships to ensure the needs of families are met. The specialist will also administer psychoeducation services, oversee family assessments, and participate in treatment team meetings to support youth and their families effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home family skills training and assist parents with youth issues.
• Coordinate activities to identify family needs and ensure transition needs are met.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with key individuals and community contacts.
• Administer psychoeducation services according to established guidelines.
• Oversee completion of family assessments and ensure treatment plans are developed.
• Participate in progress meetings with treatment team members.
• Complete weekly behavioral updates and session notes.
• Lead or participate in positive reinforcement and care review meetings.
• Administer First Aid and CPR during emergencies.
• Complete administrative tasks related to the role, including submitting reports and documentation.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions for information dissemination.
• Conduct monthly audits to ensure compliance and accurate record-keeping.
• Attend required training and maintain certifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or related field; Master's preferred.
• Two years of experience working with at-risk or troubled youth preferred.
• Experience providing counseling or psychoeducation in the home environment is highly desirable.
• Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
