About the position

The Family Support Specialist position serves as an assistant to case managers and supervisors at the Texas Family Care Network (TFCN), providing essential human services to clients. This role includes transportation, documentation of services, and supervision of visitations between parents and children, ensuring their needs are met during visits. The position also involves clerical tasks and regular interaction with various stakeholders, including the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation for clients to and from appointments as requested by TFCN Intake/Placement specialists, case managers, and/or case manager supervisor.
• Observes and/or supervises parent and child visits.
• Completes appropriate forms and documentation concerning client contact including data entry into CoBris, IMPACT, and other technology/case management systems.
• Maintains outgoing paper and/or electronic appointment calendar for scheduling requests made by TFCN Intake/Placement specialists, case managers, and/or case manager supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations including various clerical duties such as typing, filing, faxing, copying, and answering/receiving telephone inquiries.
• Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts.
• Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• One (1) year experience in social services, clerical, secretarial, administrative support, general office, or with DFPS, OR thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Clearances: State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearances; CPSL Mandated Reporter training.
