About the position

The Farm and Nursery Crew Member at White Oak Farm is responsible for supporting the operations of an organic farm and environmental education center. This role involves hands-on work in various aspects of farming, including crop production, animal care, and educational programming, while also providing opportunities for personal growth and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Seeding and transplanting crops
• Weeding and maintaining irrigation systems
• Performing animal care tasks, including goat milking
• Harvesting crops and processing seeds
• Assisting with nursery work and farm carpentry
• Participating in eco-forestry activities
• Supporting environmental education programs for children
• Taking shared responsibility for animal and irrigation chores
• Caretaking the farm during staff absences

Requirements

• Experience living and working on an organic farm
• Competence in various aspects of farm production
• Ability to communicate clearly and maturely
• Self-motivated and efficient work ethic
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude
