About the position
The Farm Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining various agricultural machinery, including tractors, sprayers, and spreaders. This role ensures the precise calibration and application of fertilizers and other products based on crop needs and safety guidelines. The operator will also perform routine maintenance on equipment, assist in crop inspections, and engage in continuous training to stay updated on agricultural practices and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain tractors, sprayers, and spreaders to ensure precise calibration and application of products.
- Apply fertilizers based on crop needs, weather conditions, and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot farm machinery and application equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Assist in inspecting crops and soil on a routine basis to assess nutrient requirements and determine the effectiveness of applications.
- Complete continuous training to remain informed about current practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory updates.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing and able to maintain a Class A CDL and appropriate endorsements (with financial assistance).
- Must be willing to submit to a DOT drug test and background check.
- 1 year of experience in agriculture is required.
