About the position

The Farmers Market and Events Brand Ambassador at Hodo Inc. is responsible for representing the brand at farmers markets and events, particularly at the SF Ferry Plaza. This part-time role involves engaging with customers, promoting Hodo products, and supporting the marketing team during the week. The position requires working Saturdays and may include additional hours for special events.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and promote Hodo products at the farmers market
• Set-up, transport, and breakdown the farmer's market or event booth/table
• Engage customers while sampling Hodo products
• Build and maintain the farmer's market instruction manual
• Track farmers market sales/inventory and manage product and supply ordering
• Build rapport with retail and food service/restaurant customers, store managers, and farmers market guests
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and shipping of market materials
• Assist with and work special events within the Bay Area and potentially outside the Bay Area

Requirements

• Prior retail sales, brand ambassador, and/or customer service experience
• Excellent people and communication skills and comfort speaking in public
• Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and teamwork
• Detail-oriented with numbers, paperwork, and customer information
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and in small teams
• Passion for and knowledge of food, especially organic/non-GMO, gluten-free, plant-based/vegan
• Self-starter, high energy, solution-oriented, fast learner, early riser
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Able to stand through an 8-10 hour work shift
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Food safety-trained/certified (or complete certification within first 30 days of work)
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Dropbox, Google Docs
